Igreja de Nossa Senhora dos Remedios represents one of the oldest and most preserved Catholic churches in the country. Built in 1628, the structure has undergone a number of restorations before acquiring its distinctive curved pediment. Palm trees flank the white facade's three wooden doors. Go inside to see the Baroque interior, with a large altar made from Italian pink marble and a colorful tile mosaic that depicts battle scenes from the local history.
