Red Bull Hangar-7, Salzburg

Marvel at the collection of 25 historical airplanes, helicopters, motors, and Formula One racing cars at Red Bull Hangar-7. The "Flying Bulls", an association of pilots and mechanics, founded this multifunctional building in 1999. Have a coffee at the lounge next to a P-38 Lightning--Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's service airplane. Watch the sunset reflected in the wings of the Mitchell B-25 from the café. Dine at Ikarus--a Michelin-starred restaurant. You'll also see two BO 105s--the world's only civil helicopter licensed for aerobatics. • This is where those who are interested in aviation and motorsport will get their money's worth. The changing exhibits of the Flying Bulls are a cross-section of aircraft construction and history. Of course, there are also various rally and F1 vehicles. In addition, Felix Baumgartner's stratosphere jump is also appreciated. What I lacked, however, even if the space is not enough, is further material from RB sponsored extreme sports. There are so many great things and unfortunately it is not shown. I hope it will be made up elsewhere. I liked the small exhibition of the excellent Terra Mater program with its great pictures. However, the architecture of the H7 is also a notable highlight. Already described extensively on the homepage, I can only add that it frames the exhibits with dignity and in itself is already a piece of art. For more information please visit our website. • Free entry to a wonderful display of planes, F1 cars, motorbikes, helicopters etc. Gift shop is no more expensive than standard market rates. Restaurant clean and reasonably priced. And the best way to really judge a place is by the quality and cleanliness of the toilets... in the case of Hangar 7... these are first class.
  • It's an aircraft hanger housing red bulls many amazing machines from aircraft through to concept formula 1 cars. Incredible to see some of these vehicles up close. Oh and it's free entry. There is also a bar and restaurant upstairs from the display.
