In a palatial building, Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien exhibits the Habsburgs' extensive art collection, which was amassed over centuries. Designed by architect Gottfried Semper, the museum is mirrored by an identical building on the opposite side of the Ringstrasse, which houses the Naturhistorisches Museum. Discover works by artists like Vermeer and Rembrandt, as well as a large collection by Pieter Brueghel the Elder. An audio guide offers an in-depth exploration of close to 600 works in the museum, including commentary on the building itself. In addition to the masterpieces on display, the museum includes a reference library of more than 256,000 manuscripts, maps, and historical prints relating to art and cultural history. • Until January 19, 2020, the Vienna Museum of Art History hosts a joint exhibition of Caravaggio and Bernini - a powerful visual spectacle in the Baroque style. The exhibition is definitely worth visiting. Tickets can be purchased on the museum's website. To visit the exhibition you need an entrance ticket to the museum (16 Euros) and a separate ticket to Caravaggio-Bernini on a fixed date and a certain time (5 euros)

  • Great museum. Try not to get overwhelmed. Just stroll through the galleries and so off of something inevitably catches your eye... Then have a close look and move on. Otherwise this could take a week to look around properly. The cafe is also an amazing space and worth a stop off.
  • This place is magnificent. Here you can see everything started from old Egypt to Italian art, like #Caravaggio, Titian and others. here is perfect artworks like Bruegel, Bosch, Rubens and more.
