Best known for the Wurstelprater amusement park, Prater is a public park whose history dates back to 1162. The land passed through the hands of noble families for several centuries, until Emperor Joseph II opened the park to the public in 1766. Visit the Krieau, a horseracing track, and see Austria's largest stadium, Ernst Happel Stadium. The main pathway, known as Hauptallee, is closed to vehicles and lined by horse chestnut trees. Take a ride on the park's Ferris wheel or try out bumper cars, carousels, roller coasters, and ghost trains. The amusement park even features a Madame Tussauds wax works cabinet. It has roller coasters, more radical toys and for young children. Relaxed place with ambient music and great spirits.
Nemohli jsme vynechat asi nejklasičtější turistické lákadlo, ruské kolo v Prateru. Cena je na krátký zážitek asi vyšší, než by se slušelo, ale je to prostě tak. Výhled hezký, fronta na chvilku. Jednou... more »We couldn't miss perhaps the most classic tourist attraction, the Ferris wheel in Prater. The price is probably higher for a short experience than would suit, but it's just that way. View nice, queue for a while. Once it was enough, we won't repeat it.
One can surely find his or her most favourite game or theme park entertainment for any given age at day or night. It's a quite nice place to spend a day with the loved ones.
It was a really cool experience. When we turned up, around 12pm, there was almost no one is the park, it was surreal. Eventually everything opened up and we had a great afternoon. It was definitely worth the short journey out to the park.
