Marvel at the ornate exterior of Stadhuis, whose Gothic facade is guarded by gilded knights. The building has withstood the test of time and is hailed as a symbol of the city. A small fee gets you access to the hall and the antechamber. These are the only rooms opened to the public, but the architecture and the artwork hanging on the walls is worth the short visit. Pick up an information card at the entrance to guide you through the paintings and the people pictured in them. With our world travel planner, Bruges attractions like Stadhuis can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Town hall within which there are only 2 rooms that can be visited. At a cost of 6 euros you can visit the beautiful and full of history: Gothic room.

  • This small museum was actually very well put together and I think well worth the price. It very systematically goes through the history of the city, and some of the conflicts that they’ve had. The multi-lingual handouts are good at explaining each of the rooms you’re in in a logical manner. Probably the best laid out museum that we were in on our whole Europe trip.
  • Nice place. Also people working at city archive are very friendly and helpful.
