Trip Planner: Canada / Alberta / Canadian Rockies / Jasper National Park / Jasper / Columbia Icefield Skywalk
The remnant of a vast glacier that once covered the region, Columbia Icefield Skywalk takes the crown as the largest of its kind in the area. Surrounded by some of the park’s highest peaks, the expansive ice field feeds numerous rivers with its meltwater, including the Columbia and Fraser rivers in the western part of North America. Head for the ice field’s visitor center to learn more about the process of glacier formation and movement; from there, you can explore the only accessible part of the ice field, which reaches a thickness of 350 m (1,148 ft) in places. Be sure to bring your camera, as you’ll get a sweeping view of the mountains around you, nine of which stand at a height of more than 3,000 m (9,852 ft). Make Columbia Icefield Skywalk a centerpiece of your Jasper National Park vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Jasper National Park trip builder .

Columbia Icefield Skywalk Reviews
So informative and well organised perhaps a little expensive but worth it. Food in restaurant very expensive but well organised considering the number of visitors more »
Well worth the trip. Its white white and spectacular to view. If sun glasses are a must, high heals are a no no. The overall trip was a little shorter than expected- maybe the ice was melting. more »
I love this part of our trip... Walking on this glass Skywalk was so scary but exciting all in the same breath. I have never experience anything like this thrill in my entire life. If you are driving through you must stop in and take in this stupendous site. Take action on what you want instead of driving through.
We did this after the glacier walk as part of the package. A very cool structure overlooking the canyon. There's info about the area and how the structure was built which was interesting. They could use a bathroom there. I can't be the only person who needed one. Maybe a little kiosk that sells water or drinks of some kind would be nice too.. or even a vending machine.
