Make sure you have a many hours to kill as this trail takes a while to finish. Definitely gives you a good workout and great views of Hong Kong. Also make sure you bring lots of water to keep... more »
This is great hike, beautiful views and reasonable close but completely separate from the Hong Kong jungle. There are multiple entry/exit points, and you accidentally find yourself very far from where you started. ( Just like we did !) Just be careful and plan well ;) Have fun !
I honestly wouldn't call this a hike as it truly isn't that challenging (if you start at the trail head, that is). You can walk it wearing anything. The trail is very well maintained with interpretive signs, Chinese pavilions, and even benches at certain viewpoints. What Dragon's Back does offer are unique vantage points of the East coast, Shek O, and Tai Tam bay. The mountain forest can also be very peaceful despite being so close to the city centre.
