Ling Yan monastery is not very popular and not many tourists so that you can enjoy purely peaceful environment and simple veggie food. Each charge hk$90 for one soup and four dishes, no fancy color... more »
Vegetarian meals available. HK$95 per head with unlimited refill of rice and soup. The soup is so good that my mom had three bowls of it (the soup contains nuts).
An ancient monastery on Lantau Island, it is rather low profile but has many well off followers. The monks there are mostly respectful and have great support from fellow lay Buddhists.
