The K.S.Lo Gallery Reviews

I have been to HK more than twenty-five times over the past thirty years, and yet, there is still surprise to be found. My childhood friend Lily took me to this quaint tea house at the Peak, the... more »
When you visit the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware in Hong Kong Park, you can also stop by the K.S. Lo Gallery, which is located next door. This is technically the left wing of the Flagstaff House which was added in 1995 and named after the esteemed local collector by the same name. At the K.S. Lo Gallery you can see a single room, mostly containing historic Chinese seals and a few ceramic pieces, and you can learn a bit about the art of seal carving, its history in Hong Kong and greater China. The entire collection is a bit small and takes no more than 10-15 minutes to examine so its worth making the stop before or after your visit to the Museum of Tea Ware, even if a bit short on time. The gallery exhibition room is upstairs. The downstairs room is occupied by the Lock Cha Tea House, where you can sample high quality Chinese tea and dim sum treats in a traditional Cantonese Tea House. Combined with a visit to the Museum, this is a nice way to spend a couple hours in HK Park. Hint: While photography is allowed in the gallery rooms in the main Flagstaff House, it is not allowed in the J.S. Gallery room.
Laid-back city lung.
