  • It passes by carelessly in the small temple which stands quietly in the town. The local map is the main tourist attraction of Coloane Island, but the scale is much smaller than that of the Tianhou temple on the hill. There were no people in the town, but they were quiet. In the middle, there was a stamp rally stamp, with offerings and incense sticks for sale.

  • There are several interesting temples that can be visited in the sleepy village of Coloane, including the small Kun Iam Temple located in the back streets near Rua Do Estaleiro and Travessa do Caetano. Here you walk into a small garden entrance on the side of a bright red building. The garden is colourful with many flourishing plants in a tight and narrow space. There is a traditional moon gate style entrance in the wall in front of the main temple hall that is nice to see. The temple is a single hall typical of others you can see throughout Macau. You will see alter shrine, burning incense, hanging ceremonial drums and weapons. What is most interesting to see are the two beautiful wooden carvings, one hanging in front of the temple entrance and the other just inside. These are quite attractive and delicate works. Given the small size of the Kun Iam Temple in Coloane, you can easily and conveniently visit in just 5-10 minutes. Best to have a map of Coloane or take a picture of the 'Memorable Buildings of Coloane Heritage Walk' signs posted in front of many of the attractions in the village. This will help you find Kun Iam.
