  • It was a fairly nice spot for photo clicks made more so by the golden lighting at night time. Nothing much to see except the Lótus.  more »

  • Lotus Square is found near Fisherman's Wharf and the Macau Ferry Terminal. This public space is square-shaped with concrete ground, it is named after the Lotus monument which can be seen in the centre of the square. It is also the location of the Tourism Activities Centre (CAT) building where you can find the very good Grand Prix Museum or the Wine Museum. These are free to explore and probably two of Macau's most interesting museums if you enjoy this type of attraction. If you do visit them, its worth taking a few extra minutes to see the Lotus Monument in the centre of the square. The Lotus monument was gifted to Macau from China as part of the symbolic handover of Macau from Portugal back in 1999. It is gilded (golden) colour, around 6 metres tall and has numerous opening petals, showing the lotus in bloom. This is a symbol of prosperity for Macau, which it has no doubt achieved since reverting back to China. You can see the monument if you are on a shuttle bus leaving the ferry terminal in route to your hotel or to one of the large casinos. You can also walk to it in just few minutes from the Ferry Terminal, Sands Hotel or Fisherman's Wharf. Note: At night the Lotus monument is hit by floodlights, making it rather nice to see after dark.
  • I love to see the culture of Macau SAR. since it have been a part of Portuguese colonialism before. You can see a mix of culture between west and east here.
