#1 of 289 in Things to do in Macau
Retrace Macau's Christian heritage at Ruins of St. Paul's, one of the region's landmark attractions. Built by the Portuguese in the 17th century, the church was originally one of the largest Christian shrines in Asia. A 19th-century fire destroyed much of the original complex, but the ornate southern facade still stands as a reminder of the building's former grandeur. A steel stairway provides visitors with access to the top, while the onsite museum houses artifacts providing insight into the history and art of Christian faith in the Far East. • Very well maintained ruins. The place gets pretty crowded especially in the center. To get a nice view, walk on the right (facing the ruins) Pictures from this angle seems to look better too.
  • When I visited it was hot plus there were so many tourists on this place so I didn't enjoy this place much but it's a cool photo destination. You can give weird poses and if you are interested in history you must visit this place.
