Prague Zoo occupies a wooded area on the right bank of the Vltava River. Home to nearly 5,000 animals from almost 700 different species, the park offers you a chance to come face-to-face with giraffes, gorillas, polar bears, tigers, and red pandas. Although the park shelters over 130 species listed as critically endangered, its most important possession may be a herd of rare Przewalski’s horses, native to the steppes of central Asia. Stop by to see the descendants of the last Przewalski's horse caught in the wild, and discover other highlights of this animal sanctuary by taking a guided ride on the zoo's miniature cable car. Prague Zoo Reviews
We couldn’t quite believe how far we walked that day!! The zoo is mapped over terrain which makes it different to many zoos I have visited before. I think it’d be better to visit in the warmer months.... more »

Beautiful and worth every penny. Took 4 hours to explore the zoo but still couldn't cover all animals. Suggest to go early in the morning. The zoo itself in December seems pretty empty so it's really great! During my visit, the lion was coincidentally resting near the window pane so we had a lot of good close up shots! However, due to the weather some of the animals are hiding inside. The inside hippo zone is currently not available and because the weather is cold, they were not outside for viewing. Most animals seem to have enough space and enjoy themselves. A lot of walking so take note to wear good shoes and warm clothes.
Amazing zoo! I love the landscape, how zoo treat all animal there, when i first saw cheetah freely walk around out of cage, i was so amazed!! It’s the first time in my life to see it like this. It’s huge area, i took 4 hours walk around the zoo, no tram in the zoo, you allow only walk and up above with cabin. I have seen Honey Badger, the fearless animal, i love it so much!
