La Pagode de Chanteloup et son parc is the oldest park in the French Castle of Chanteloup. Note the distinctive Chinese-inspired 44 m (144 ft) high pagoda monument supported by 16 columns with 16 pillars. Each of the seven floors has a dome built in it, and each dome has a narrow staircase that narrows further as you ascend towards the top. Climb the steps to reveal a panorama of the lush Amboise forest and the contours of the Loire Valley.     The pagoda is beautiful and the view from the top is nice but that is all the site has on offer as the (uninteresting) garden is just an excuse to up the entrance fee. I know, preserving beautiful...  more »

    The 10€ entrance fee seems way too much for what you get. Btw, if you use Google Maps to navigate there, it guides you to a small way behind a hedge next to the Pagoda, which is actually closer to it than the main entrance, but something like 10 minutes away from the actual entrance.
