Une tour de l'horloge gothique a été conservée lors de sa reconstruction et fut... more »This building is next to the theatre at the place de la République and was built in 1845 in a neoclassical General style. A tower of the Gothic clock was preserved during its reconstruction and was inaugurated in 1856. This building is beautifully maintained and is discovered from this large tourist square on which there are numerous restaurants and terraces and also an outdoor (ephemeral) skating rink in winter.

It's city hall, not a hotel per se. Quite a nice old building on the east bank of seine. There is a merry go round at one corner of the plaza in front. Well lighted at night and look even nicer.
The Hotel de Ville is one of the enduring landmarks in the city and it's been that way since the mayor of Paris first moved to the site in 1357. Initially, the seat of Paris city government was in the house owned by whoever was mayor. It wasn't until 1533 that the French king Francis I decided to grace the city with an Hotel de Ville that suited the capital of France! Instagram @profnasr
