Dedicated to ocean discovery, Oceanopolis houses 10,000 marine animals in 50 aquariums from 50 to one million liters (13 to 264,000 gal) of water. Videos, kiosks, and signs provide information on the biology of species, on environmental protection, and on ecosystem functioning. Visit the restaurants for a bite and the bookstore and shops to complete your souvenir collection. The center is divided into four pavilions: temperate, polar, tropical, and biodiversity. Oceanopolis includes 8,700 sq m (94,000 sq ft) of space with four million liters (over one million gal) of seawater with one million liters (250,000 gal) for the shark tank alone. They were doing work outside to install photovoltaic cells on roofs but the aging interior needs to be reviewed and corrected. To remain attractive you have to innovate a minimum. Considering the price of 21.20 euros per adult closing at 5pm I would not return for 10 years, at best. Even if there are beautiful fish to see I do not recommend this visit. A good report perhaps more informative.
Un établissement vieillissant, sale, peu propice à la découverte ... qui ne laisse pas la place aux enfants. Aucun axe pédagogique. Personnel peu disponible et non avenant. more »An aging establishment, dirty, not conducive to discovery ... that doesn't make room for children. No pedagogical axis. Staff not available and not friendly.
Beautiful place with three different exhibits. One for tropical fauna, one for Arctic, and a very unique exhibit for the Bretagne region. Informative, fun, and with English translations for everything. There is also an English audio tour. Had a great time. Food was a bit expensive, but that's what happens in tourist attractions. There is a space for picnics though, inside and outside, so you could in theory bring your own food in.
Nice place, but far from being top of the line. Aquarium is impressive, but only tropical area - cold area lacks qnimals. I was impressed with size of some tanks. You can see some of the sharks quite up close and it was a great opportunity for some awesome photos and videos! I recommend a visit, but you will hardly want to return.
