Chateau du Bosc, Camjac

Explore the 15th-century Chateau du Bosc, the family home of painter Toulouse Lautrec. Once a feudal fortress, the structure was renovated in the 19th century. The artist spent a large amount of time in these halls after a crippling accident at the age of 15 in which he broke both of his legs. Despite the handicap, Lautrec's elders encouraged him to develop his skills, and so the young man started drawing. Today, you can take a guided tour of the reception rooms and bedroom, as well as a family museum with a wall of Lautrec's works. • There is not possibility of free visit. Just guided and just in french. If you don't speak french you will get really bored.
  • Incredible that this place was maintained by T-Ls elderly aunt to remember him by, very evocative of his life and history, well worth the effort. The tea room had suffered a fire when we were there, hope they get that back up and running soon
