Le Phare de Gatteville, Gatteville-le-Phare

Phare de Gatteville, also known as Pointe de Barfleur Light, is an active lighthouse near Gatteville-le-Phare at the tip of Barfleur, Manche department, in the Lower Normandy region of France. At a height of 247 feet (75 m) it is the third tallest "traditional lighthouse" in the world.

  • View from the top is great. You have to get up the spiral stairs and is very windy on the top but it is worth of it.  more »
  • We walked from Barfleur which is about a 7km round trip. Arrived around 4pm on a Sunday and was very quiet. There is a small gift shop/information area where you buy tickets. Very nominal fee €3. The....  more »
