Moulin Rouge, Paris

3.6
#3 of 2,629 in Nightlife in France
Experience risqué cabaret performances in the iconic 19th-century windmill at Moulin Rouge. The shows feature singing and dancing in the can-can style originally made famous at this destination. Juggling, comedy routines, and individual acts intersperse the main ones to keep you entertained throughout your visit. The interiors still contain much of the romance of turn-of-the-century France. On view in several spaces throughout the venue are poster arts by Toulouse-Lautrec and Jules Chéret. Seated at a table with an emblematic red lamp, surrounded by mural art, enjoy French gastronomy in the warm ambiance of Belle Epoque. • There were three cabarets in Paris that I would have liked to visit, but for its high price I could only choose one. I decided on this show because of how much I like the movie and its story, but when the show was over I thought maybe I hadn't chosen well. Something that quite surprised me is the poor organization, I expected that being so touristic was better posed. We arrived quite early and were put into a room where we were rowing on a first-come, first-served basis, but when they made us pass we saw how many people who had arrived last had entered through another door going through us, not us. I had the cheapest tickets, no champagne, on the table you get a drink menu but the prices are outrageous. The place is nice but how stoped you with people you don't know, it's tables of six chairs, three on each side with how uncomfortable it can be, and if it touches you the side that turns your back on the stage you have to be rotated. If you go to the 23:00 function it is more complicated to return by metro, at the exit taxis stop right at the door. If you go to the 23:00 function it is more difficult to return by subway, the good thing is that at the exit the taxis stop right at the door. The show has like two faces, there's one I liked for the costumes, the staging and the scenery that was great. But I felt that half the show was stuffed, as they put in some circus show that although they are professional and well, (minus the clowns, which I found horrible), I find that subtracts glamour, and it is not what you are looking for in a cabaret , it's like a variety show, maybe it would be nice for a lower price. For all this and feeling it very much I would not repeat.

  • I booked a night show with dinner. It is a so-called review, but there are performances such as acrobatics in between. The girl's show was beautiful, but the dance and the song were in the second style, and the song was not a live orchestra, and the music was recorded. The food was not acceptable and impossible, and I was wondering if they were all priced together.

  • A wonderful extravaganza. Great show although I think it’s time animals were no longer used on stage. They are not needed. Miniature Shetland ponies are paraded on stage for 5 minutes. That’s 2 shows a day. I wonder where they are kept during the day?. Tables were a tight squeeze. They could give you very one more room by sacrificing some of the tables. Other than that it was fantastic
  • It is a must-see show. Expensive, yes! Regrets? Not one! It was truly worth every penny! The show is bigger and crazier than you can imagine! We did the champagne only package with the show and had a blast! One of the best eye-opening show in the world. Beautiful and talented dancers and the security and the reception staff are extremely professional with high customer service skills. The show is stunning I will assure you that you will look constantly and be always amazed. The thing that could have been better is the seating arrangement. A group of 6 shares a table and if you are unlucky, you get the back seats and all you can see are heads of the other guests also the seats are so narrow. I understand they are trying to maximize their profit with this table arrangement however the customers need to be comfortable when paying an expensive ticket for such shows.
