Built around the ruins of a first-century Roman home, Vesunna preserves and protects this piece of history, while educating visitors about era. The home and several artifacts from daily life were discovered in 1959. The museum--a glass and steel structure with an umbrella-like roof--opened in 2003. From raised catwalks, you can see models and descriptions of what the house looked like in its heyday. You also can learn about the Roman city that once existed here.
