Chapelle Foujita was constructed at Rue de la Mars in 1965-1966 by the Japanese artist, Tsuguharu Foujita. It is most famous for the frescos he hand painted in the interiors. A converted catholic, Foujita designed the chapel, all of the ironwork, stained glass, and the sculptures. At the age of 80, he painstakingly painted the frescoes in blues, greens, yellows, and browns with Christian themes, as well as with depictions of his friend and his wife. The Catholic diocese consecrated the chapel in 1966, and France listed it as an historic monument in 1992. Chapelle Foujita Reviews
2月末に行きましたが、入り口は閉まっていて、「ouverture du 2 mai au 30 septembre」（5月2日から9月30日までオープン）と書かれていました。 残念！小さくてとても素敵な外観でした。 more »I went to the end of February, but the entrance was closed and it was written "ouverture du 2 mai au 30 septembre" (open from May 2 to September 30). Sorry! It was small and had a very nice appearance.
tres tres belle chapellle et de merveilleuses peintures directes sur les murs J ai eu la chance de la visiter également lors du travail de Foujita dans les années 1960 more »very very beautiful chapel and wonderful direct paintings on the walls J had the chance to visit it also during the work of Foujita in the years 1960
I loved the exterior of the church, but unfortunately I did not get to see the interior because it was closed despite the fact that it said on the gate it was supposed to be open from 2 to 6. I went there at 2:15 and then later again at 4:30 but it was not open. I recommend that you plan other activities alongside this if you are planning on visiting because it probably will not be open.
