Altstadt, Nuremberg

4.8
In the heart of Nuremburg, Altstadt represents the city's rich history and its recent resilience. As you explore the old town's tree-lined streets, you can admire the imposing, medieval stone fortress and timbered houses. Much of Nuremburg was destroyed in World War II bombing. You may find yourself heartened by the last 70-plus years of recovery and rebuilding efforts. Consider a stop at the Church of St. Sebald. The town's saint is buried within. The riverfront promenade makes for a pleasant walk and place to grab a bite to eat. • I didn't know that Nürnberg was such a pretty city. The old part of the town is really charming. Go see the castle and get lost in the charming streets along the river inside the city gates.  more »
  • Just walking around and reading up on the historic context is an adventure on its own. Some ugly new buildings here and there though.  more »

  • This place is awesome. Saturdays no appointment needed but there's usually a wait. Staff speaks English and are very friendly.
  • Went here today for a haircut. Super friendly place! And one of the best cuts I have ever had. The cut was very precise. Well worth the money. Highly recommended. Looking forward to my next visit. (Walk-ins on Saturdays otherwise you’ll need an appointment).
