Route de la Traversee, Parc National

#18 of 97 in Outdoors in Basse-Terre Island
Scenic Drive · Tourist Spot
Coast along Route de la Traversee, a well-maintained tar road that cuts across Basse-Terre and offers spectacular views of Carribean tropical forests. Although the road is not very long, it does offer a few places to stop along the way. Get out to explore the national park, hike at Maison de Foret, and enjoy a picnic and a dip by the river. Be aware that the road is often wet and should be driven with caution.
