    The basilica is huge and we had already seen it from some kilometres away. After arriving in Esztergom we parked under the Valeria bridge, so we saw it from the bottom and then walked uphill towards.....  more »

    A very large and beautiful basilica, currently undergoing renovations, you can tour it free of charge, beautiful paintings from the inside. Great view of the Danube from the outside and a view of Slovenia opposite. Large parking in front of the basilica. There aren't many people around so you can leisurely stroll there.

    This place is HUGE! They were not kidding when they said this is the biggest Basilica in the country. Sadly when I was here, it was undergoing sine renovation, but I saw enough to impress me. And then outside, at the back is the beautiful view of the Danube river, with Slovakia in the background. Plus not a lot of people, so, win-win.
