Ben-Gurion House, Tel Aviv

4.5
One of the main residences of Israel’s first Prime Minister--left to the state after his passing--Ben-Gurion House now serves as a museum and memorial to Israel's founding father. Ben-Gurion lived here with his family when he wasn’t staying at the official Prime Minister’s residence in Jerusalem or his retirement home. On a free tour of the building, you can see Ben-Gurion’s humble chambers, where he wrote the final draft of Israel’s Declaration of Independence, and an array of his books, documents, photographs, and personal items. • A nice house/museum to visit. Admission is free. Not too many artifacts, but great to be in the house where so many important decisions were made in forming the state of Israel.  more »

  • This is an excellent museum with photographs and documents relevant to the history of Israel by it’s founding members like David Ben-Gurion. I was impressed by the groups of elementary and middle school students accompanied by their teachers performing educational assignments in the museum writing about the artifacts and documents on display. The extensive library which includes correspondence of Ben Gurion with world leaders can be appreciated from the inspection of all the bookcases on the second floor. And visit to this museum provides the visitor a sense of the circumstances during the creation of the state of Israel in the world stage.
  • A quick peek into the history of a great man. The house is free to enter and they offered a free English language audio tour. The office staff was extremely friendly. The house tour takes between 30-60 min, depending on how long you take in the artifacts.
