  • Outside Assisi and very visible from the highway is this BASILICA built to enclose and protect the places of life of St. Francis. Magnificent the Porziuncola where St. Francis composed the Song of Creatures, is small and full of frescoes even the room of the Transit is significant (where he died forty years old on 3.10.1226).

  • This place is amazing! The whole place but especially the little church inside is beautiful! There seems to be Mass at least every hour. If you go to Mass, go to Confession and pray a few prayers (you can find them on a card at the bank of the church) you can get the indulgence St Francis asked the Pope for!
  • Have you ever seen church in church? Not yet? So let's go to the Santa Maria degli Angeli and visit the Basilica. This small village is located close to Assisi and it is the place where San Francisco lived and established Franciscan order. He died just in the small church called Porciunkule which is in the centre of the Basilica. Now it is one of the famous pilgrims aim in Italy.
