  This type of offset work is unheard of these days. We had the print maker Matteo tour us around and show us all the old type setting and relief printing plates etc... This was a gem we stumbled upon.....  more »

  We were lucky enough to encounter Matteo’s place and it was the highlight of our experience in Lucca. He has several gigantic machines that he uses with bookplates to create beautiful prints. We had a wonderful time chatting with him and he also showed me how the embossing works. Please make you way there if you are visiting Lucca !

  I was lucky to stumble across this incredible workshop and gallery. Matteo, owner and master craftsman, gave us a tour of the beautiful machines that he uses to print and emboss using traditional techniques. There's a superb collection of prints, gifts and even some of their publications. A highlight of Lucca.
