Torre del Moro, Orvieto

4.5
Climb the 236 steps and treat yourself to an amazing view over Orvieto and the surrounding landscape from the top of Torre del Moro, one of the city's most imposing structures. The 47 m (154 ft) tower, now the symbol of the city, was originally built in the 13th century and first belonged to the pope before it became the property of the city. Over the centuries it has served various purposes, from wartime observation platform to the city's main water tank. Today, its clock and bells tell the time. If you don't feel like climbing all the way up, there is a lift that takes you halfway up the tower, leaving you with only 100 steps to the top. • The amazing view of Orivieto at the top of the bell tower made climbing the 200 steps well worth it. There is an elevator, but it stops at the second level. You still have to climb 160 steps
  • It’s a lot of steps but definitely worth it. The best view in Orvieto hands down. If you do nothing else In Orvieto this is the thing to do. Spectacular 360 panoramic view of the town and surrounding mountains. Must must see
