Garden · Nature / Park
Built on castle grounds, Senshu Park invites with its serene landscape and historical value. The wooden gate and old guard post remain from the old citadel as a reminder of some other, ancient time. Stroll around, then relax by the lake and admire the lotuses blooming on its surface. Famous for its valley of 800 cherry trees, the park hosts an annual spring festival with live music and delicious street food that attracts people from all around the world. Rich golden tones color the park during fall, while in winter, it turns into a picturesque scene covered in snow. Climb to the top for a view over the city. • Beautiful park right in the heart of Akita City... Short walk from Akita Station. Can get quite busy at times but many peaceful areas to chill out if that is what you are looking for. Great spot for people watching.
  • Very interesting historical site with many markings in English.
