With a total length of 201 m (659 ft) and a height of 8.7 m (28.5 ft), you can explore the cave relatively quickly, but don't hang around too long, as the inner cave has a year-round temperature of around 0 to 3 C (32 to 37.4 F). Observe large icicles lit with colorful lights, and note the lack of echo while you talk, with sound quickly absorbed by the basaltic walls of the cave. Wear sturday shoes to explore the subterranean world, as the icy conditions can create slippery spots.     Worth seeing if your in the area as it’s quite inexpensive and you can buy a double pass for both the wind and ice caves which we did as they are only 2mins drive/15min walk away from each other. The....  more »

    The Wind cave is quite small (and short). It's cold inside. If you're in the area it's worth visiting and admiring it, but it's not something excellent.  more »

    Cool place. Really neat history. Quick 15 min tour. Only approximately 600 yen. Watch your head if on the taller scale. A little cold so bring a jacket. English is spoken by the ticket folks.

    Very cool cave but also definitely a touristy place. Recommend seeing it but also seeing other caves in the region to get a better, less commercial sense of what they are like. There is plenty of parking and the admission fee is relatively cheap ad well. Make sure to grab a safety helmet so that you dont hit your head!
