Located within a larger park commemorating the bombing of Hiroshima, Atomic Bomb Dome haunts with the memory of the lives lost during the attack. Now designated as a World Heritage Site, the former exhibition hall was the only building that remained standing near the bomb's hypocenter; today, it memorializes the 70,000 who perished immediately in the bombing, as well as the additional 70,000 who passed away from the bomb's aftereffects. Though you cannot enter the ruin, you can approach and circle the surrounding gate to see light flooding through the skeleton of the building. Impressed to see what happened with the nuclear bomb, in addition there are a large number of monuments in favour of peace, denuclearization, and a museum which recalls the fateful day and the consequences of the atomic bomb.
Just what it looks like in the photos I saw in the past. It's very humbling place, reminding you of he horror of the war. The place is of course filled with tourists. There are nice parks nearby to enjoy music, coffee, open air and so on. You can take a stroll or sit and just watch passersby. It's definitely a world heritage to preserve.
Everything around this heritage site is a flash of memory here. Every-thing remind about one the saddest thing that happened in the mankind's history. All the architects and the artists involved in the project of Memorial Park did a great job. Need to see and to hope that the future will never bring this back. Highly recommended for Japan, to not avoid this experience in you are traveling through Japanese culture
