Mizuochi Falls, Iriomote-jima

#8 of 11 in Nature in Iriomote-jima
Waterfall · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Tucked away in a mangrove, Mizuochi Falls are formed by the short Mizuuchi River suddenly dropping down the several layers of sedimentary rocks. The falls cannot be reached from the land but only from the sea, so you will need to take a chartered boat or rent a canoe. The best time to visit the falls is during the summer, when you can take a refreshing dip under the picturesque cascades.
