Climb to the top of the towering Izumo Hinomisaki Lighthouse to witness panoramic views of the ocean and rocks below. The masonry structure stands an impressive 43.65 m (143 ft) high and is said to be the tallest in the country. A lovely landmark set in a pleasant bit of greenery atop the often windy cliffs. If you have a car, great. If you don't, you can still reach the lighthouse via a local bus service. You can climb to the top if you pay the entrance fee, though it is not necessary to enjoy your visit. There are a few shops and restaurants (offering seafood - you'll smell it before you see it) on the walk from the car park to the lighthouse. The coastline on the drive up is very pretty.
