Izumotaisha mae Station, Izumo

#7 of 116 in Things to do in Izumo
Architectural Building · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
Built in 1930, Izumotaisha mae Station was made a Heritage of Industrial Modernization site for its contribution to mass tourism. Observe the station's standout design, rendered in a Western architectural style with striking stained glass windows. It has retained its old-fashioned styling even though it continues to function today, providing the only rail link between Izumo and Taisha. While the station offers little in the way of English information, you can find onsite amenities and a cafe.
