Toriike Pond, Miyakojima

#5 of 14 in Nature in Miyakojima
Water Body · Nature / Park
Witness the mystical aspect of Toriike Pond, a pool seemingly isolated by jagged rocky outcrops. In fact, subterranean passages connect it to the ocean--but its mythic appearance has inspired many stories, including tales of a mermaid. Wear some sturdy boots for a walk along the surrounding trails, and consider bringing along a picnic to enjoy on the benches overlooking the blue pool. Put Toriike Pond at the forefront of your travel plans using our Miyakojima road trip site.

  • Not much to see except the 2 big holes. Ended up there by just driving around, wouldnt have done the trip on purpose.
