Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park Reviews
This was a visit we both completely enjoyed. The park is put together with much thought and evokes emotion as you visit each space. The walk around the park does not take long and is quite easy for an... more »
I have no idea how to rate the peace park as it was constructed to highlight suffering and survival rather than as a "tourist attraction". I did not think it was a particularly beautiful park - there ... more »
If you are going to Japan make sure that you go to Hiroshima. Catch the bus from the station and get off at the A Bomb Dome stop. It is quite confronting but everyone on earth should see it, to make sure that it doesn't happen again. Stop to look at the eternal flame, the flame that will not be extinguished until all nuclear weapons on earth are gone, and wish for the day that this will happen. Then, our earth will live in peace. Exploring the Museum.. It is opens for 24 hrs everyday. The wander through Hiroshima peace Memorial Park to put into words. Sadness engulfs the area and a strange aura exits 73 yrs after the atomic bomb, "The Little Boy", was dropped. A reminder of suffering, a memorial for the dead, and a strange overwhelming calm shimmers across the park. I visited with my friends there. We walked together and talked about the repercussion after any war. Really Horrible..! About the A-Bomb Dome and the Museum.. This is one of the must-see sights of Hiroshima. There are many lovely statues and memorials within the park. All paying respect to different things, some are decorated with colorful origami cranes.Really lovely place. Facts.. It is enormous history told very effectively which left high impact on all of us. If history is not really your thing, or all the war memorials make you too sad, the park is always good for a stroll or to relax. so font worry. Go and mesmerize the beauty. I hope this information will be useful for you.
I usually like to joke around on here, but I've got to be serious when talking about this place. The memorial does a great job showing you the horrors of the Hiroshima bomb dropping with it's vivid imagery and eerie silence, the park itself is full of groups of students and friendly people just resting in the park, and the park is beautiful and can take you to the shopping arcade nearby. One of the survivors even did his yearly presentation to our student group. If you are going to Japan, it's only right for you to go here.
