  • I wanted to stay near the park and the shrine was an unexpected pleasure. Witnessed prayers from businessman on the way to work. Visited several times while working out in the park.  more »

  • A small and quiet shrine near the Oedo line in Nishinshinjuku. It's near the local park and was kept relatively clean as we passed by on our walk toward the main Shinjuku area. The offering area included a sign in English on how to offer and bow at the shrine. The shrine was closed during December, but it looks like it was more active during Autumn. At the entrance, you can smell the roasting of corn and other foods by staff. There's a down-to-earth feel to the entire shrine.
  • Small shrine dedicated to the guardian of Shinjuku, very peaceful. Much needed respite from the busy streets of Tokyo.
