  • I was able to see a permanent exhibition with tickets for the special exhibition. We have a national treasure class gem. There was time on this day, too and we took a walk in the japanese garden behind us. It's a small place, but I think it's really good to feel like Japan.

  • In a majestic building, a beautiful collection of works, including Hokusai's "The Great Wave of Kanagawa," is well worth a visit although I would have liked more pieces. The temporary exhibition at the moment (forbidden photos) is exceptional.

  • It was a rainy day which was a perfect time for my visit to the museum. So much to see and lots to photograph, a few pieces were off limits to photo, but being important cultural pieces I understand why. I spent a good half day here and didn't feel bored at all, it was a wonderful trip through Japan's very interesting history. The fact it goes all the way back to Prehistoric times was fantastic.
  • It's already a reasonable price to begin with for how large of a museum it is (can easily spend a couple hours here, more if you're particularly interested in something) and there's a student discount on top of it. We only did the main museum (didn't pay the extra for the temporary exhibit). If you're interested in learning more about Japan's history I'd highly recommend visiting.
