Take a step back into the past and visit the remains of an early 17th-century castle as you take a peaceful stroll through Tamamo Park. As you walk through the former castle grounds, take in views of surrounding trees, old stone walls, and the nearby sea. Continue to walk around the park and you will come across a 100-year-old Hiunkaku house, which features a traditional Japanese interior complete with paper doors. The highlight of the park is the restored castle, with a history dating back to the Edo period. One of Japan’s only castles, it features a moat that connects to the ocean. When we got there it was temporarily closed for restoration. It was unfortunate that we couldn’t have a chance to look around the castel. However there is beautiful well-maintained garden. You will be amazed to see this traditional Japanese garden and old style temple.
A beautiful historic castle and park. Worth to visit.
