A part of the World Heritage-listed city, Grande Mosquee d'Agadez stands as one of its most famous landmarks. Well known because of its pyramid-shaped minaret, and construction made out of mud and brick, the mosque rises above the city to 27 m (88 ft). Built in 1515, the structure underwent restoration in 1844. Outside prayer time, you can climb the minaret for a certain price for a view of the whole historical complex.
