The undisputed symbol of the city, Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is a World Heritage Site that astonishes visitors with its sheer height and intricacy of design. This impressive church was designed by one of Spain’s renowned architects, Antoni Gaudí. Though Gaudí produced some of the country’s most inspiring buildings, this church is his most famous work. This masterpiece in the very heart of the city, featuring Gothic and Art Nouveau elements, is 95 m (312 ft) long and 60 m (197 ft) wide, with a seating capacity of 13,000. The central tower rises 170 m (558 ft) above the transept, with 17 other towers of 100 m (328 ft) or more. Visitors have access to the nave, crypt, museum, shop, and two towers. • It's always a pleasure to visit Sagrada Familia and find an extra piece of it every time... at any time of the day or night you get lost in admiring the details of this fantastic compulsion that deserves more than a visit; at night from the outside to admire the facades with artificial light that enhances the details and by day from the inside to admire its majesty and the colorful mosaic windows.

  • After nearly a decade of hoping for the opportunity to visit this place, it was so very exciting to visit. This place is very special and the story of it's design and personality it's creator, Gaudi, is interesting on its own. I highly recommend researching this site before your visit to maximize your enjoyment. I watched a documentary on the history before coming, which added to the splendor. I was most impressed by the story of the bible on the exterior and the shape of the column inside. An incredible place to visit.
  • Simply breathtaking. Impossible to describe or capture in photos. Hands down the most extraordinary building I have ever entered. Very special place. Make sure you have enough time to do the museum below and wander through the school building. Just wonderful!
