Puente Zubizuri, Bilbao

#8 of 179 in Things to do in Bilbao
Bridge · Tourist Spot
Stroll across the curved walkway of the unusually shaped steel Puente Zubizuri. Designed by famous Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava and built in 1997, this white suspension bridge spans the Nervión River. A translucent brick deck lines the well-traversed pedestrian bridge, now partially covered to keep pedestrians from slipping in wet weather. Ramps makes the bridge wheelchair accessible. • Architecturally interesting bridge. Originally the walkway was supposed to be clear but people would slip when wet and now it remains covered with a black mat.  more »
  • This is a very interesting bridge and is located close to the Guggenheim so it is easy to take a quick look or walk across.  more »
  • It was fabulous bridge 😍 and u can see most of the city while you are crossing it and very good to make a picture session
  • A modern bridge! Very touristy, but I did understand it. It's more beautiful in the night! There are several attractions better than this one. Turist
