Best reached by car, Sandy Bay offers striking black volcanic sand that lure visitors, but don't plan to swim here. Because of the strong undercurrents, swimming is strongly discouraged. Instead, utilize the beach for picnics and barbecues, take photos of nesting turtles in the area, or explore the farmed upper reaches where coffee and bananas are grown. Derek did a great job driving us to Sandy Bay thru' some winding narrow roads Worth visiting. Blank sand and secluded place is a must visit.Amazing views of the ocean and the hilly background! more »
