Stroll through two centuries of historical exhibits at Teylers Museum. Opened in 1784, the museum is the oldest in the country, and has changed little since the late 19th century. Explore the cultural history exhibits, which include fossils and minerals, as well as scientific instruments, coins, and encyclopedia collections. Admire the Oval Room, the oldest section and an excellent example of neo-classical architecture. If you'd lke to get a deeper understanding of the exhibits, pick up an audio guide at the start of your visit. Absolutely amazing. If you have any interest in science or history, this is the place for you. A treasure trove of fossils, geodes, coins, and physics instruments-- even an art collection. Plus the house itself is impressive. We could've easily aren't 4 hours here. Try to schedule your visit around the demonstration.
Really loved this museum. It’s display of historical scientific instruments is by far one of the best collections I’ve seen of this type. The museum building is also beautiful and well maintained. The art collection is small but nice. It wasn’t very crowded and the have audio guides in English.
