Well-known for its winter sports and holiday destinations, including some of the country's best ski resorts, Haute-Savoie is a department in the Rhône-Alpes region bordering both Switzerland and Italy. You will find Lake Geneva and Switzerland to the north, the Aravis mountain ranges are southeast, and Mont Blanc, with the famous Mont Blanc Tunnel that crosses the border into Italy, to the south.
