Figueres is the capital of the comarca of Alt Empordà, in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain.The town is the birthplace of artist Salvador Dalí, and houses the Teatre-Museu Gala Salvador Dalí, a large museum designed by Dalí himself which attracts many visitors. Kick off your visit on the 4th (Fri): take a stroll through Patronat Call de Girona, steep yourself in history at Girona Cathedral (Catedral), then don't miss a visit to Passeig de la Muralla, and finally look for all kinds of wild species at La Fageda d'en Jorda. On your second day here, explore the world behind art at Salvador Dali House, then see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and then don't miss a visit to Village Medieval de Pals.

Known for its Mediterranean climate and vibrant beach community, Salou serves as the tourist capital of the Costa Dorada.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Sun): pause for some serene contemplation at Catedral Basilica Metropolitana Primada de Tarragona, then delve into the distant past at Anfiteatro de Tarragona, then enjoy the sand and surf at Llevant Beach, and finally admire the local landmark of Illuminated Fountain. Keep things going the next day: stop by El forn de la carretera, delve into the distant past at Circ Roma, then don't miss a visit to Mediterranean Balcony, then snap pictures at Pont del Diable, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Playa de la Pineda.

You can drive from Figueres to Salou in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or do a combination of bus and train. In October, daily temperatures in Salou can reach 26°C, while at night they dip to 15°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Mon) early enough to take a train to Barcelona.

Barcelona, the country’s second-largest city, is a cosmopolitan urban center known for its throbbing youthful energy and stellar architecture.
Explore hidden gems such as Vila Vella (Old Town) and The Centre de la Vila. Get some cultural insight at Basilica of the Sagrada Familia and El Barri Gòtic. Change things up with a short trip to Fenals Beach in Lloret de Mar (about 58 minutes away). There's lots more to do: pick up some local products at La Boqueria, take a stroll through Passeig de Gracia, admire the landmark architecture of Casa Batllo, and tour the water at your own pace with Boat Rentals.

Traveling by train from Salou to Barcelona takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In October in Barcelona, expect temperatures between 26°C during the day and 18°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Sat) to allow enough time to travel back home.
