Golden City

A holy city, Amritsar stands as the spiritual and cultural capital of Sikhism, and the location of the religion's most revered and holiest shrine.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Fri): get engrossed in the history at The Partition Museum, then stop by India House, and then make a trip to Khalsa College. Keep things going the next day: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Gurudwara Shri Manji Sahib, then take in nature's colorful creations at Jallianwala Bagh, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Harmandir Sahib, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Digamber Jain Temple.

Guwahati to Amritsar is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Prepare for slightly colder weather when traveling from Guwahati in March: high temperatures in Amritsar hover around 30°C and lows are around 13°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sat) so you can go by car to Manali.
