On the 30th (Thu), take in nature's colorful creations at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, thenadmire the masterpieces at Tokyo National Museum, thencontemplate in the serene atmosphere at Senso-ji Temple, and finally get engrossed in the history at Edo-Tokyo Museum. On your second day here, wander the streets of Ginza and then stop by Odaiba District.

Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Get a sense of the local culture at Kinkaku-ji and Sanjusangendo Temple. Change things up with these side-trips from Kyoto: Nara (Todaiji Temple Cultural Center & Nara Park) and Dotombori District (in Dotombori). And it doesn't end there: step into the grandiose world of Nijo Castle, contemplate the long history of Heian Shrine, and take a stroll through Gion.
