The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
Start off your visit on the 26th (Fri): head outdoors with Fukuma Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Miyajihama Beach, pick up some local products at Osakana Tengoku, thentake in the dramatic scenery at Waterfall of Senju-in, and finally look for gifts at Kobo Tottan.
