In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Duomo di Milano and Piazza del Duomo. Tour delle Merlate - Castello Sforzesco and La Citta Alta are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Step out of Milan to go to Capriate San Gervasio and see Leolandia, which is approximately 50 minutes away. The adventure continues: buy something for everyone on your list at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, admire the striking features of Santa Maria delle Grazie, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio, and wander the streets of Navigli District.

Vienna, Austria to Milan is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. Traveling from Vienna in July, expect Milan to be somewhat warmer, temps between 35°C and 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Wed) to allow time to drive to Como.

Como
Known for its idyllic location on the shores of Lake Como and at the foot of the Alps, Como is one of northern Italy's most popular tourist destinations.
On the 19th (Wed), stroll through Villa del Balbianello, then kick back and relax at Lido Villa Olmo, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cathedral of Como. Here are some ideas for day two: explore the galleries of i Giardini di Villa Melzi, get into the urban bustle at Broletto, then stop by dep design store, and finally look for gifts at L'Isola Che Non C'E' Sas Di Valli Franca & C..

Made up of five picturesque towns on the Ligurian coast, Cinque Terre is Italy's answer to the French Riviera.
Kick off your visit on the 21st (Fri): stroll through Cinque Terre Trails, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Santa Margherita di Antiochia Church, and then take a stroll around Vernazza. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 22nd (Sat): tour the pleasant surroundings at Levanto beach, then enjoy the sand and surf at Spiaggia di Fegina, then pause for some serene contemplation at Convento dei Cappuccini e Chiesa di San Francesco, and finally make a trip to Monumento a San Francesco d'Assisi.

Traveling by car from Como to Cinque Terre takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or do a combination of bus and train. In July, daytime highs in Cinque Terre are 35°C, while nighttime lows are 21°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Portofino.
